In January 2011, the dance company "Monochrome Circus " and the creative group "graf" in Osaka will produce a new theatrical piece and will premiere in Kyoto. At the Setouchi International Art Festival 2010, they collaborated for "Naoshima Theater " which used the whole island as a theater. It might be a fresh memory for many people. And they already started their new developments.
"graf" has been proposed creative life as subjective and as a fun. And they put the idea into reality with diverse and highly specialized technology. They care that leave 'margin' in the products and projects for completed later by the receiver. Their working process is such a similar as create a performing arts. In the point that appeal of the work will leave to the receiver's imagination not only for the impact of the creator.
In this performance, a body and a furniture will repeat the questions and answers about body sense comes from the tools and space / use of tools and space perception are caused by the body. The theater space will blend with living space. All the equipment and the furniture are new series of "graf" and they will spread into a living after this stage.
The composer is Toru Yamanaka who was a member of dumb type. The place,VOICE gallery (MATSUO MEGUMI +VOICE GALLERY pfs / w) will held a open studio, too.
What the body will choose from the world? How we can continue our life as creativite ?
This is an experimental performance of the story between a body and furniture.

“graf” is a creative unit, engaged in space design, furniture-making, lighting design, graphic design,
product design, art and eating from the viewpoint of “Structure for Living.”
Based in Nakanoshima, Osaka, the company is running a wide range of operations such as making and selling our original furniture, designing stores and houses, product design and graphic design in each project division.The company’s recent work of design is Naoshima Bath “I ♥湯” planned by Shinro Otake, an artist.

They are performing in Japan and abroad about the theme “Dialogue around / with body”. They keep 13 works including “Water House Project” which has 7 short and long works, 2 works by oversea chorographers, “Delivery Performance Project – SHUKAKUSAI (Harvest Festival)” which has already been performed 300 times, “Passionate Journey”in which Kosei Sakamoto meets various kind of people on the stage and collaboration work with Takayuki Fujimoto from ‘dumb tepe’named “Refined Colors” and “lost”. Recently they made site specific performances, “FIND A DANCER!”（Beppu Contemporary Arts Festival 2009）“, “Naoshima Theater” (Setouchi International Art Festival 2010)

Born in Osaka, Japan. As a music composer, producer, club DJ and organizer, Yamanaka has collaborated with various artists around the world. From 1984 to 2000, he joined the Japanese performance group Dumb Type as a music composer and sound designer. Since 2000, Yamanaka has been collaborating with Singaporean theater director Ong Keng Sen. In 2009, 'Diaspora' at the Edinburgh Festival.2009.He is working with many artists to create new world.“Neoreal 2010” music for the installation of Canon Milano Salone 2010.”D.E.S.K”Monochrome Circus etc.
